I have never been a skinny girl Ive always been known as Deb the big blonde girl.
I know now how lucky I was as kid being the bigger girl that I wasnt bullied or picked on. To be a kid/teen and be over weight these days can be really hard , as people cyber bully and write things all over social media..I was never a bully I was always the clown I guess I hid behind my weight with humor.I had plenty of friends and boyfriends too haha.
I have never really worried about my weight and actually I'm not that worried now. On the 1st of march I decided to GET HEALTHY .
I had already quit caffine 1/6/2014 that was huge in its self, I drank alot of coke and energy drinks daily . When I quit them I was grateful I was big because I looked like a junkie while I was getting off it and detoxing. I had the shakes and headaches for weeks.
Now I just want to change my lifestyle I dont want to live on diets and shakes that stuff never works or lasts.I had a good chat with my doctor and decided any little change is a good change for the better.
I have the best support from my close friends and my family.A friend I grew up with Lisa she is a personal trainer for LA DIAMOND and she has been amazing giving me the encouragement and help I needed to start she doesnt live close by but always checks up on me and progress.
I like to have dates when I do things so I can keep track, so I decided the 1st of march was my day to change.
*NO MORE SOFT DRINKS
*NO MORE JUNK FOOD
*ANY EXERCISE IS BETTER THAN NONE
*CHEATS DAYS ARE A MUST OR I KNOW ME AND ILL QUIT.
*TELL THE WORLD SO ITS OUT THERE AND YOU CANT GO BACK ON IT
It wasnt easy to change my life style,when you have not cared for so many years, but I have stuck with it .
I walk most mornings and have started yoga and meditating.
I have never been able to shut my brain off but I found this silly app on my tablet and now i can mediatate I love switching off now,I have insomina so meditating has been helping me drift of to sleep with a clear head.
Aswell as all of the above I also made a plan with a friend Nicole to go and see a personal trainer.His name is Shanyne (from FORMICA FIT)and he has changed my life, every monday night we train with him and now we are going 2 days a week.
Alot of people have asked why I keep going usually people go and get the tools they need and do it on there own. I love the one on one training I cant slack off because he is there to keep me going. I also like that I learn something new everytime I see him.
I remember the first time he wanted me to do a sit-up I didnt even know if I could." When was the last time you did one "he said. My response was probably in year 7 sports. Who does sit ups for the sake of doing one unless your working out (which I never did). Then there was planking oh my god had never heard of it. Wow that was really hard I couldnt even stay up for 5 seconds. I know your laughing inside but remember I had never worked out. Now every weeek I am getting better with it all and when I get home and I'm sore and run a hot shower, I think of all I have learnt and the new excerises I can now do.
Boxing is my favourite thing to do I just love taking my anger out on the bag or poor Nicole who is holding the pads .
We always have a laugh and every session she will with out a doubt complain to which he will always make us to do ...She will never learn she is just lucky I love her hahahahaha.
So I will keep updating my progress and thoughts as I continue to go on this life changing journey .
One thing I am lucky for is the people in my life who are encouraging me and keeping me on the right track, Thanks guys you all know who you are xoxo
